  • $6,90000

  • Incredibly rare pre-war German K98k rifle manufactured in 1935 by Erfurter Maschinenfabrik GmbH (aka. 'ERMA Werke'). This rifle is one of only a few thousand made in 1935 by ERMA Werke as part of Germany's clandestine pre-war rearmament program, with the receiver stamped "S/27.G" ('S/27' being ERMA Werke's manufacturer's code and 'G' being used to indicate 1935 as the year of manufacture).
  • This rifle was initially sent to Germany's tax office, the Reichsfinanzverwaltung (or Reich Finance Administration) to circumvent restrictions on the size of Germany's army as a part of the Treaty of Versailles. Above the rifle's serial number on its butt plate is stamped "R.F.V. 2175" ('R.F.V.' being the acronym for Reichsfinanzverwaltung and '2175' likely being the Reich Finance Administration's rack or internal number for the rifle). The rifle eventually did enter service with the German army, as it bears the accompanying army acceptance stamp (an eagle over the letter 'H') on the right-hand side of its buttstock.
  • This rifle is in very good condition, with no pitting or rust on the metal work but with a slight fading to the finish. The barrel is slightly worn at 7.5 out of 10, and the woodwork is also in great condition but with a minor fade and some cosmetic marks.
  • The rifle is almost entirely matching, with everything barring the two smaller capture screws, rear sight slide, and cleaning rod being stamped with the rifle's serial number or an abbreviation thereof ('4121' or '21').
  • Very few of these pre-war 'S/27.G' rifles are known to survive today, particularly ones in this condition. This is an extraordinary rifle that would make a phenomenal addition to any collection!
